　本品は、リージョン２のＤＶＤデッキで再生できました。Phyllis Hymanの唄が素晴らしい。しかし、何と言ってもこの作品は、Hinton BattleとGregge Burge（故人）でしょう。特に『It Don't Mean A Thing』での二人の踊りは圧巻です。現在、Broadwayにもこれほどパワフルなダンサーは居ないのではないかと思います。Henry Letangさん振り付けのタップのｓｔｅｐｓは、リズムタップやファンク系（ラップ系？）のタップが主流となった今ではかなり旧さを感じます。本作のタイトルとは違って演出が洗練されていない、カメラワークが冴えない、などのいろいろ問題はあっても『It Don't Mean A Thing』だけで★★★★★です。

Phyllis Hymanが観たくて購入。
モデルらしく抜群の存在感と歌唱力が観れます。

ざっと２０年前　このミュージカルステージのレーザーディスクをタップダンスを習っていた同僚から借りて初めて観ました。僕はもともとアメリカのミュージカルが好きだったのですが　デュークエリントンの音楽は勿論　ダンスや舞台進行も楽しくて　初めて観た時から何回見ても楽しさが変わりません！！！
